In April 2013, the Government announced new funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision in schools. In 2020/21 we received £16,557. Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding and Ofsted will be assessing and reporting on how the money has been spent.
The funding has enabled us to invest in a wide range of exciting equipment for pupils to use to improve their skills in PE. We subscribe to the Buckingham School Sports Partnership who support PE in primary schools including organising courses for staff and festivals for pupils. The school pays for professional coaches to teach different aspects of PE to all pupils including pre-school. Our sports coach is also a key member of our lunchtime team, ensuring that all pupils have access to sporting opportunities as part of their lunchtime play.
We have also been lucky enough to recently more than double our land area, with much larger spaces for outside play and sports. We have drained and levelled the land and have put up fencing to enrich and extend our PE facilities even further.
In Summer 2020, the school worked with the Diocese to provide space for a hall to enable us to have access to our own indoor provision for PE.
